Description
“Grey Children” -02.01.2018
The main features of this assemblage include; a handmade polymer clay Aztec style dragon painted in metallic tones and placed at the top middle of the frame, an old yellowed watch face, metallic buttons and bottle caps and three central figures. The three figures were originally simple vintage finds from a local charity shop. I re-sculpted their faces with polymer clay and re-painted them. Their features became cracked and slightly distorted after a long stay in the oven.
The title ‘Grey Children’ is not only due to the appearance of these figures but also a tribute to my favourite game series, Silent Hill.
Approximate measurements; Length: 26cm and Width: 32cm
Materials included; Polymer clay, acrylic paint, paper-mache, thick layered card, tissue paper, hot-melt adhesive, wooden blocks, vintage figurines, old watch face, bottle caps, buttons, metallic spray paints, PVA glue and torn paper collage.
