I am the Founder and Director of Art in the Heart with over 20 years’ experience in education and training and over 15 years’ experience in running art related businesses, on the high street, at international shows and online. I have an MA in Arts Market Appraisal.
Throughout, I have been directly engaged in advising artists and makers how to market, and sell their work in different kinds of environments.
In my role as Director of a busy high street gallery (2011-2018), I curated displays and exhibitions, organised demonstrations and workshops. I rolled out work experience programmes for local students and adults who wanted to re enter work. I also demonstrated competence in business negotiations with companies and the local authority.
I have built up a wealth of experience in marketing and publicity with the same years of experience in writing articles, press releases, narratives for artists and makers and website copy.
I have also been an arts contributor to regional magazine, <em>The Moment</em> for nearly a decade. I have featured on BBC radio numerous times, talking about business and the high street, and have made several cheeky appearances on TV shows.
I set up my first Facebook Page in 2012 followed by a Facebook Group in 2014. I am now well versed in the ways of social media marketing using Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with regular Ads and email marketing newsletters. For nearly 20 years I have been working with e-commerce selling on most big online platforms in that time, and have had my own e-commerce websites since 2006.
I now run this online Marketplace, which requires all of the skills above with the added thorough knowledge of admin panels, Dashboards and plug ins.
