“Itzpapalotl Totem” -14.05.2020
The background is assortment of mixed fabrics that were hand-stitched and painted with various colours and textures. The details include, hand-sculpted polymer clay faces and Aztec style symbols. The deep-set wooden frame is painted with metallic tones and decorated with buttons and beads. This project was inspired by the Aztec goddess ‘Itzpapalotl”. This has become one of my favourite artworks of the year so far. I put a lot of thought, time and care into this piece.
