Description

The Wolf
( 20 x 13 x16cm)
“The Wolf” was born in 2019. Created by Rachel Watts for “Through these Eyes”
This signed piece is a strictly limited edition of 10
The sculpture captures the natural movement and focus of a wild, solitary wolf hunting in its natural habitat.
The highly textured wolf  has a nicked right ear, a trademark characteristic of Rachel’s wildlife studies
This piece is cast in filled resin and painstakingly hand finished to create an individual personality for each sculpture.
To compliment the Wolf’s wild nature, it is mounted on an individually chosen  ancient, heart oak plinth.
The oak is ethically sourced in Wales and is treated with bees wax and linseed to preserve and enhance its natural beauty.
Finished with an authentification sticker, the base is felted to protect surfaces.
“The Wolf” combines contemporary and ancient to capture the essence and freedom of wilderness, a bewitching addition to any home.

  • I am a wildlife sculptor, I describe my work as inspired by nature with a whimsical twist. After Graduating in 3d design, I worked as a commercial sculptor for well known British figurine companies for many years but recently set out on my own with the excitement and freedom that enables me to have. I work from my studio deep in a wood in the fens, where I sculpt in wax, cast in resin, individually paint and lovingly finish each piece. My work is inspired by the creatures who scurry across my path and the magic I find when I follow them.
