  • Hello! I am a pet portrait artist, based in the Fens. I produce highly detailed drawings with colour pencils. I have a passion for dogs and horses.  As an artist, I take inspiration from the beauty of animals all around us and the special pets in our lives, that mean the most to us. I believe every animal has its own unique soul which makes them all so different, both in looks and personality. Animals can be very spiritual and bring joy, comfort and companionship to may of us and they become a huge part of our families and daily lives. My passion for drawing started at a young age. I have a passion for dogs and horses and would draw the horses from my riding lessons and family dogs which all meant a lot to me at the time and I loved capturing their spirit. My drawing style has evolved with nurturing from art teachers and family, I am mostly self taught and have been honing my drawing skills for many years. During my A levels I received an award from the Granta and Fine arts society for my painting re-creation of the iconic photograph of the moment at the Empson Darby, the famous race in which suffragette Emily Davidson collided with the kings horse in 1913.   I create hand drawn portraits using pencil and pastels. I use very light pressure to create the softness of the animals and take the time to capture all the small distinguishing features that are their little hallmarks we recognise them by, this could be a dog with very curly hair that flicks across the eye a certain way or unusual pink markings on the muzzle of a horse. Please have a look at my work and items featuring my original artwork.  best wishes Neve
