Seller Information

  • My work is a celebration of my love for flowers, landscape, textiles, nature and found objects.  Influenced by the landscape and surroundings of my home, garden and studio and beaches in East of England, Wales and Cornwall.

My work is a bit like myself in its eclectic nature. My small to medium sized work can be found in galleries and larger items in exhibitions. I am always surprised where my work finds its home - from Alaska to Europe and across the UK.  My work on Art in the Heart Marketplace can be divided into two main types-

    ·        Indoor ceramic decorative items. The large proportion of my work is decorated using nature printing or general printing techniques and often stained to enhance the detail.

    ·      Outdoor high-fired stoneware sculptures. These tend to have simple strong lines and a distinctive style that add an additional dimension and interest to a garden especially when set against dark foliage or positioned on hard surfaces.

My preferred clay is stoneware, and occasionally porcelain paper clay and is slab built or carved. Each piece is handmade and varies slightly which provides its own character. The clay is mainly left without a glaze unless mentioned otherwise. Outdoor items are fired to 1260-12800 C to make them frost hardy. Indoor items are fired to 1220- 12800 C (I am always trying to make my firings as efficient as possible).

I am a member of the Nature Printing Society (largely based in the USA) and Anglian Potters. I am often known by my real name - Dawn Isaac - but few people can spell my name correctly (even my family) and bizarrely there are a few of us in the UK with the same name, including another who is a member of the Anglian Potters group which can be confusing.
