Description

Clifton Wood Bristol – 2009
While travelling into Bristol on the Park and Ride bus from Long Ashton, I saw this view up towards Clifton Wood, Bristol and that was the inspiration for this painting.

I had a clear vision in my mind of what the painting should look like and I wanted to capture only the buildings themselves and not be concerned about the trees above and below the many different coloured houses.

I must admit I struggled to get the composition just right while capturing the essence of the structures and balance the many colours together so that there remained a freshness to the scene.

This painting is the first I have painted that is twice as large as I would normally paint, I wanted to capture the size and detail that the buildings deserved and did not forget the washing lines!

All prints are reproduced on 190gram Archival acid free paper.

Each print is individually signed and numbered by the artist and bears an embossed authentication with print number. The image area of the print is 11″ x 16″ suitable for framing in a standard 16″ x 20″ frame.

Ready to ship in 3-5 business day from United Kingdom (UK)

Seller Information

  • Store Name: Peter Bowen Art
  • Seller: Peter Bowen Art
  • Peter Bowen has been making ceramics for over 30 years and has become fascinated with the design and production of three-dimensional pieces and has a range of clocks, butter dishes, cream jugs, and sugar bowls in a range of unique glazes and colours which are all made from white earthenware clay.

The designs are based on his classical art training and creative development process. Each piece is formed, finished, and left to dry slowly for about two weeks before the first firing in an electric kiln in his pottery studio. He usually makes them in small batches to maintain the handmade aspect rather than trying to mass-produce items. His manufacturing technique is based on “just-in-time” a production method aimed primarily at reducing times within the production system as well as response times from suppliers and to customers.

His unique glazes are based on his own glaze recipes which are lead-free and food safe. The hand-applied glazes maintain consistency in the production process and yield a highly desirable finish for the classic country kitchen look.

Ceramics and Art have always played an important part in his artistic development and he continues to explore new creative opportunities.

The Peter Bowen Art brand’s values of elegant classical design, high quality, and affordability, coupled with its unique glazes set Peter Bowen Art apart from competitors. This approach, along with unwavering attention to detail and drive to transform breakfast and dinner tables, whatever the style, has been central to the brand’s success and remains at the heart of everything Peter Bowen Art creates.
