Beach Huts No.2
Every time I visit the coastal seaside towns of England I am amazed by the number of beach huts that exist in every shape, colour and size. Recently we visited Beer in South Devon on a cool windy day in June – British summers are so unpredictable – we enjoyed a favourite crab sandwich while sitting in a beach hut!
This painting is based on a collection of beach huts that I have seen in my travels and is typical of what you could see at almost any beach.
I enjoy exploring the shapes and architectural styles of beach hut construction and I always include a washing line of ‘whites’ out to dry in the warm sunshine.
I hope you enjoy this Beach Huts painting as much as I enjoyed creating it. This painting was first accepted at the Clifton Arts Club Open Art Exhibition in Bristol in 2009 and Royal West of England Academy Exhibition 2010, the Royal Bath and West Show 2011, Clevedon Arts Club Annual Exhibition 2012.
