This mosaic is one of a set of three. It began as a seascape but changed during the mosaic process into an abstract of the sea focusing on the shapes and colours at three different timelines. This represents the shapes and colours of midday.
It is an original mosaic design, cut, glued and grouted in gold (pigment added to cream grout) on MDF board 25 cm x 20 cm.
The back is varnished and has secure fixings for easy hanging.
Although every effort has been made to avoid sharp edges, this piece is made from cut glass, so care needs to be taken when handling and cleaning (for the latter, a soft dry cloth and window cleaner is recommended).

I have always been a very creative person and found true inspiration when I started to work with mosaic. I was instantly hooked by the colours of the glass and the intricacy of the designs possible. I cannot describe the pleasure of making a piece using beautiful shiny glass and adding some little treasures to it, such as pebbles or shells found at the beach.
I love nature and the outdoors and my work mirrors this. I am particularly inspired by the colours and shapes of trees, flowers and the sea.
I am a member of Peterborough Artists’ Open Studios where I exhibit my work and now want to share it through a wider audience on the Art in the Heart Marketplace. I hope you enjoy my work.
