From an original Lino cut and hand painted in watercolour.
The Peacock has such elegant beauty, and colourful feathers. This was my inspiration to create a Lino cutting.
Kindred associated with the Peacock feathers, are meaningful to those with this power animal, for they also have an association with resurrection, rising out of the ashes. They can help us to shed the old feathers of the past and take back the true beauty of our individuality, this increases self respect and confidence.
The Peacock is a possessor of some of the most admired human characteristics, and is a symbol of integrity and the beauty we can achieve when we endeavour to show our true colours.
Lino cutting is a printmaking technique in which a sheet of linoleum is used for relief surface. A design is cut into the linoleum surface with v-shaped chisel or gouge, with the uncarved areas representing a mirror image of the parts to show printed. The linoleum sheet is inked up with a brayer, and then impressed onto paper.
It is an ideal accompaniment to a gift for family, friends or anybody who loves Peacocks.
Printed on quality acid free archive watercolour paper.

I enjoy developing my work so that my paintings and etchings can speak to both me and to others. I am influenced by the elements of design: colour, texture, shape, line, value and direction.
In 2015 I completed an advanced printmaking course, where I explored different printing techniques. I continue to explore my passion in printmaking through practice and deeper study.
I exhibit and sell my work from my home studio and also exhibit in the Summer Open Studio's event each year. This year I am exhibiting my Art, in the Art in the Heart shop window in Westgate arcade.
