I have handcrafted these eye-catching oval earrings at my workshop near Peterborough. Starting with small sterling silver rings I have passed them through the rolling mill to create the oval shapes. These have later been soldered on to silver sheet backgrounds and a wire added. The majority of each earring has a polished finish however I have hand finished the inside of the oval with an oxidisation process to achieve the black colour. The wires are approximately 0.7mm thick and are also made from sterling silver which has been hardened during the tumble polishing process. These earrings could be worn with a variety of outfits both day to day or on a special night out. If you are looking to buy them as a gift you’ll be pleased to know they come well presented on white card inside a black pillow style box featuring The Busy Box Room logo.

I graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 1995 with a degree in 3 Dimensional Design my specialist area being Metalwork & Jewellery. Formerly a secondary school teacher, I now work from home creating handcrafted silver and gold jewellery. I complete all aspects myself from cutting out to filing, forming, soldering and polishing. I like the simple and uncomplicated so my work is based mostly on geometric shapes and natural forms. It has a modern and contemporary style with gold or stone set features added to create further impact.
