A disturbing, honest self portrait fusing impressionism and surrealism in a simple but effective composition. The work depicts my profile taking in a view of the outside world through an unveiled window, consuming death, leaving a trail of paint in my wake. This is a very personal work, presenting my vulnerability as both artist and citizen, yet the viewer is not neglected. What might be visible out the window? Is the piece optimistic? The painting is dynamic and eye catching, and at 61cm square can be hung without a frame. I have signed and dated the canvas on the reverse as proof of authenticity and it can be easily and inexpensively shipped.

I’m a trained technical illustrator and painter, devoted to the study of art, and have produced hundreds of pieces over twenty years.
I create unique, arresting, and often challenging images that compel with form and colour. My core subjects centre on man and his relationship with the universe, through the depiction of life’s minutia.
I largely work with canvas, brush, and acrylic, but will use whatever is necessary: oil, resin, dirt, hair, and even dead flies.
I am inspired by all art history, most notably impressionism and surrealism, but am also very interested in contemporary painting, producing a large body of abstract expressionist work.
