Straw Bales #3 Original Textile Art by Catherine Peddel

£45.00

This is the last art work from the series titled Straw Bales. Original textile art inspired by my love of the countryside.

Description

A different style to my usual flowers, I have enjoyed finding the fabrics to use in these art works. All the fabric has been printed and dyed by me, some of which is from several years ago mixed with very new work.

A patchwork background with shapes representing straw bales machine stitched on top.

Please bear in mind that due to differences in monitor settings there might be a slight variation on colour. As far as possible, I have replicated the colours in the photographs true to the art work.

For illustrative purposes the photographs show the art displayed in a black frame. This is not included in the price. The art work measures 12x12cm and suggested frame size is 25cm x 25cm.

The photographs show the work mounted on white acid free card. This is what you will receive.

For posting, the work is wrapped in cellophane, packed between two pieces of card, bubble wrapped and posted in a padded envelope, to arrive safely, ready to go in the frame of your choice.

  • I love creating textile art which has special significance to me and my past. I first embarked on this medium some years ago when I gave my sister a special housewarming present. I dyed old linen sheets that belonged to our Grandmother and inspiration for the piece came from our father’s garden. I loved making this and the ideas have continued and evolved. I use a variety of printing techniques to create the background. Following this the fabric is then carefully selected and cut into the shapes I create usually from nature. Using multi-coloured threads, these are machine stitched into place. I now exhibit and sell my work in a number of UK galleries
