Dawn Birch-James (MA Arts Market Appraisal): CEO

Dawn, Art in the Heart’s founder and Director is responsible for strategy and the development of the Marketplace, including artist and maker recruitment. She is also responsible for quality control, the Art in the Heart brand, publicity and marketing including social media.

She has been dealing in fine and decorative art for 17 years. She previously founded Harriet’s Art Gallery and enjoyed over 5 years of success running the much loved Art in the Heart Gallery and Gift Shop. She is now the inspiration behind Art in Shop Windows in partnership with the large shopping centre, Queensgate in the centre of Peterborough. Read more about this soon.

Dawn has been selling from e-commerce sites for 17 years. She is self taught in the ways of social media and is a convert.

She also writes for a regional lifestyle magazine and has written forwards to art exhibition catalogues. She has experience in the valuation of art and antiques and has had her research referred to in articles and academic journals. Contact dawn@artintheheart.co.uk

William Birch-James (BA Graphic Design): Print Designer

William is equipped with a Graphic Design degree from Derby University. During his final year he worked as a brand identity and print designer for Sight Support Derbyshire and Embrace a Kenyan charity. He won the best design concept for the Degree Show publicity. Previously he worked for a design company in Huntingdon and now works in the centre of London for a leading golfing apparel brand. He heads up the print and digital design requirements of the company.

Faye Gagel-Panchal (BA Fine Art Printmaking): Key Volunteer and Sales Assistant

Faye, mixed media artist and print maker assists with Art in the Heart’s community art project Art in Shop Windows. She  previously exhibited in the Art in the Heart gallery and gift shop and gave of her time voluntarily to assist with curating.

Faye worked initially as an full time professional artist, but then became designer and product development manager for an overseas charity, where she worked with artisans in the developing world to create ethically traded products.

She is now a qualified counsellor and has returned to her fine art pursuits. Her sari inspired work raises money for The Esther Homes Project, India, through a percentage donation.

Abby Nair: Instagram Co-ordinator

Abby manages our Instagram marketing campaigns, promoting the the artists’ and makers’ latest pieces and products. She is  currently in her final year of studying BA Fine Art with History of Art at the University of Leeds.
